  Every Tuesday and Wednesday from 10 am -1pm, we will offer childcare and at times age-appropriate classes for your child so that you may pamper yourself a bit while they are having fun.

  Movers & Twisters is a fun class for young kids to experience beginning yoga with their parent or caregiver.

  Pilates Mat:
   
  Pilates follows principles based on a well-constructed philosophical and theoretical foundation. It is not merely a collection of exercises but a method developed and refined over more than eighty years of use and observation.
   
  While Pilates draws from many diverse exercise styles, there are certain inherent ruling principles that bring all these elements together under the Pilates name. One interpretation of Principles: Centering, Concentration, Control, Precision, Breathing, and Flowing Movement.

  Hatha Yoga:
   
  Also known as Hatha vidya, is a particular system of Yoga introduced by Yogi Swatmarama, a sage of 15th century India, and compiler of the Hatha Yoga Pradipika . In this treatise Swatmarama introduces Hatha Yoga as 'a stairway to the heights of Raja Yoga ', hence a preparatory stage of physical purification that renders the body fit for the practise of higher meditation.
   
  The Asanas and Pranayama in Raja Yoga were what the Hindu Yogis used to physically train their body for long periods of meditation . This practise is called shatkarma.
   
  The word Hatha is a compound of the words Ha and Tha meaning sun and moon and refers to the principal nadis (energy channels) of the subtle body that must be fully operational to attain a state of dhyana or samadhi.
   
  In other respects Hatha yoga follows the same principles as the Raja Yoga of Patanjali including moral restraint yama and spiritual observances niyama . Hatha Yoga is what most people in the West associate with the word " Yoga " and is practiced for mental and physical health throughout the West.

  Belly Dancing
   
  The benefits of belly dance are both mental and physical. Dancing provides a good cardio-vascular workout and helps increase both flexibility and strength, focusing on the torso or "core muscles", although it also builds leg strength.
   
  Many belly dance styles emphasize muscular "isolations", teaching the ability to move various muscles or muscle groups independently. Veil work can also build arm, shoulder, and general upper-body strength, and playing the zils can build strength and independence of the fingers.
   
  Belly dance is suitable for all ages and body types, and can be as physical as the participant chooses. As with starting any new exercise routine, people would be wise to consult their doctor before starting a belly dance regimen. It's also important to talk with the belly dance instructor to find out the level of difficulty in the classes.
   
  The practice offers mental health benefits including an improved sense of well-being, better body image and self-esteem, and the generally positive outlook that comes with regular, enjoyable exercise.
   
  Level 1
   
  This ancient art builds strength, stamina and self esteem. Students will learn the basics of belly dance. Each class will work on building coordination, grace, strength, and flexibility. This liberating dance form is a celebration of women through movement and an ancient life-embracing art! Learn and practice basic technique including proper stance and posture, arm carriage and patterns, fundamental shimmies, isolations, introductory undulations and traveling steps.
   
  Each class ends with a short choreography to incorporate the new movements.
   
  Level 2
   
  Begin exploring Middle Eastern music, rhythms and structure. Level 2 will expand upon movements and theories taught in Level 1. Students will study layering, mastering shimmies and how to put combinations together. We will also focus on finding and getting the most out of your music. Choreography and improvisational skills are just a few of the other topics to be covered. Performance opportunities will also be offered.

  Salsa/Latin Dance
   
  Salsa dancing is more popular then ever before. It is a great way to enjoy exercise, meet people and put a new spark
 into your relationship! Salsa is predominately a fusion of Rumba, Mambo, and Son. During our classes you will learn primarily Salsa, with a BRIEF introduction to other rhythms such as the Cha-Cha, Meringue and Bachata. These are the primary Latin dances you need to know to be ready for Latin Club dancing! We start at an easy pace with the crucial underlying forms and skills that will make you a great Salsa dancer, while simultaneously learning all the basic moves! As our skills increase, we slowly increase the pace of the class. We can do this because the skills and moves we learn later are built on the ones we learned earlier. Make Friday night date night with a Salsa appetizer or a fun way to start a girls night out!!!

  Through meditation, we are able to tap into our inner power and enhance our health and overall well being. Meditation is an empowering tool that can profoundly reduce stress and improve ones quality of life. It has proven to be very effective for pain management, anxiety, heart conditions, digestive disorders, depression, and much more. Our instructor will teach you basic techniques such as proper breath work, imagery and visualizations providing you with the foundation for you own personal practice.
