  Audrey Ray Brown
Owner, CMT

Audrey is a graduate of the Cayce/Reilly School of Massotherapy.  She has an A.S. from the University of Phoenix and is currently studying Holistic Nutrition from Clayton College of Natural Health.  Most important to Audrey is her desire to be a student of life and a positive example of possibility. Living, learning and growing with intention from every life experience. Audrey created the original Lotus Touch Center for Alternative Therapies, in 2001. What began as Massage, Yoga and Meditation classes evolved into the exceptional center for healing that is now the Natural Elements Spa & Academy.

Her path has been an amazing evolution with unique and fascinating experiences along the way.  As a Navy veteran she was given the opportunity to travel extensively. Experiencing the beauty of other cultures, religions and healing practices resonated deeply within her soul. She later drew on these experiences for her own healing. Following Desert Storm she became plagued with illness that medical doctors had no answer for.  This began a personnel quest for knowledge and healing that have grown into her life’s work.

Audrey was joined in 2003 by her current business partner and cherished friend Suzanne Garcia. Together they expanded their menu and staff to include an exceptional list of classes and complementary therapies. Audrey has been blessed to have a like-minded partner who is committed to learning and sharing knowledge with others. Together they have a shared passion of enhancing the lives of others through knowledge, inspiration and wellness services. They have created Natural Elements because they believe that “every person is a unique and special spirit that deserves the joy of a healthy mind and body”.

What an amazing journey to get to the place of owning a Wellness Spa, how does it happen? In this case by the grace of God. My formal education comes from George Mason University with a B.A. in Psychology. My husband's job brought us to Chesapeake from our origins in Northern Virginia. I would have to say I started on a path of self healing with holistic therapies and wellness after little help from the traditional medical community and years of pain and illness. They could offer only experimental drugs and very little understanding of my conditions which forced me to move in a new direction.

I began to look within and seek a deeper understanding of how the body is all connected. Taking responsibility for my own health empowered me, and through dietary changes, supplementation, and holistic therapies I felt a shift in my overall health and life. In the midst of this healing journey, I found Audrey Brown at what was then called Lotus Touch Center. Working with Audrey I saw the dramatic difference regular massage was making. Feeling better and having more energy, I began other therapies like yoga and acupuncture.

Audrey and I felt a connection upon our first meeting but had no way of knowing what the divine had planned for us & Less than a year later, we became business partners. Much has change from that time, our name we have grown and are taking on this new journey in a new space… But, some things remain the same. My Journey continues and what I believe is my life’s work does as well; I know Audrey would say the same. If Audrey had not started this business and guided me I would not have the same health results and therefore would not have two amazing children.

With that said, having the drive to keep the doors of Natural Elements open and offering those same great benefits and empowerment to others is imperative. That is the story of how I arrived in this amazing business. I give thanks for waking up daily and knowing that it is one more day that someone will be touched by the healing powers of Natural Elements, and so the cycle continues.

Patricia Richardson
Pilates Instructor
Salsa/Latin Dance

Born in Mexico City, Mexico, Patricia has been a student of dance since the age of six. With a 10-year tenancy with the prestige Ballet Company of Mexico City, Patricia was introduced to Pilates as a means to help soothe the sore muscles that are common to the performing arts, as well as recover from an accident of her own.

Certified by S.C. Pilates of Mexico, Patricia has been instructing Pilates for nearly a decade, working to aid in others' rehabilitation for all types of injuries and specialized fitness and shaping of any or all body parts. Patricia has been choreographer and dancer in many Musicals and TV shows spanning a 25- year long career.

She has learned a vast respect and knowledge of the human body during her 30-years of experience teaching Ballet, Jazz, Latin rhythms and Pilates.
